Redefined SUV Luxury – EQS SUV
The new EQS SUV is the third model from Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated electric vehicle (EV) architecture and is set to redefine an entire segment. Vast space, comfort, connectivity, and captivating design for up to seven occupants culminate into the brand’s latest and greatest upper market offering.
The EQS SUV shares the same long wheelbase (3210-millimeters) with the EQS sedan, but with an additional 200-millimeters in height. This increased height, along with the flat-floor mounted battery pack, sees the EQS SUV perfectly capitalize on its interior volume with head and shoulder room comfortably surpassing norms of the segment. The second-row seats are electrically adjustable, and the available third row of two individual seats also feature extensive comfort features and configurability. The most eye-catching highlight of the interior is the available MBUX Hyperscreen. Spanning fully between the EQS SUV’s A-pillars, it is composed of three screens under a shared 1410-millimeter glass cover. These screens display the EQS SUV’s suite of infotainment, instruments, and vehicle settings unobtrusively. Regardless of seating, all occupants will revel in the Dolby Atmos sound system® for a comprehensive 360-degree audio experience. Like its EQS sedan and EQE sedan siblings, several functions of the EQS SUV can be activated and enhanced via over-the-air (OTA) updates for ongoing improved ownership.
Two variants will be available at launch – 450 MATIC and 580 4MATIC. Both use a 107.8 kWH battery system sending power to all four wheel via Mercedes-Benz’s proven and beloved 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Power and torque figures are 355 bhp and 800 Nm (450 MATIC) or 536 bhp and 850 Nm (580 4MATIC) respectively. Over 600 km of range* is achievable with full-charging times as low as 31 minutes with 200 kW DC fast charging. Mercedes-Benz’s renowned AIRMATIC air suspension and continuously adjustable damping ADS+ system is standard to provide peerless ride comfort, and capability to handle light terrains with ease as ride height can be adjusted by several centimeters. ECO, COMFORT, SPORT, INDIVIDUAL, and OFFROAD Dynamic Select modes are available on all variants, along with a remarkable rear-axle steering system. At launch, this system will have steering angles of up to 4.5-degrees to decrease turning radiuses, but owners can expect future OTA updates to increase the steering angle to as much as 10-degrees.
